Job Title: Account & Project Services Team Lead

Our client in the Dallas-Fort Worth or Minneapolis areas is looking for an Account & Project Services Team Lead to join onto their internal agency. This role serves as initial point of contact for all aligned client projects and recommends and advises clients on options and capabilities utilizing marketing best practices and channel knowledge. The Lead must exhibit strong organization, management and prioritization skills, as well as outstanding client judgment, business acumen and the ability to work collaboratively with the creative team to achieve on-target materials to meet the client’s needs. In addition, the Lead will provide project management follow-through and accurate delivery. The Lead will also manage the in-house studio.

Team Lead Responsibilities:
  • Account Management
    • Maintain the “big picture” for projects and client requirements ensuring that related deliverables are treated appropriately
    • Develop and maintain solid client relationships and encourage a collaborative approach with departmental team members
    • Write creative briefs on complex projects and interpret them for project teams in order to lead communication strategies and implement marketing efforts
    • Provide strategic development and counsel to clients, specifically in the development of campaigns to solve clients’ marketing problems
    • Review full breadth of clients’ projects to recommend opportunities for effective streamlining of messages and/or projects
    • Collaborate on creative development and direction with client, design and production teams
    • Collaborate with and ensure the studio staff understands client requirements and perspective and that the final output aligns as appropriate
  • Project Management
    • Execute client requests ensuring on-target, on-time, on-budget, on-brand delivery and help client plan for future needs to meet business goals
    • Review client change requests and respond with schedule/cost impacts along with alternatives
    • Manage expectations with clients and departmental teams 
    • Negotiate timelines and budgets and ensure that all deadlines are maintained
    • Serve as the voice within the creative studio for the client and facilitate client interaction with the designers and writers as appropriate
    • Collaborate with designers and writers to ensure product delivers on client promises
    • Review products for quality, consistency, accuracy and advancement of the visual and verbal brand in design reviews, and ensure that consistent image/message is conveyed across the client’s products
    • Set expectations with clients, e.g., when and what they will see next as part of the creative process, budget expectations, solution response expectations, follow-up process and metrics expectations
  • Management & Leadership
    • Works harmoniously with others to get a job done and lead the team in a collaborative fashion
    • Give the team proper recognition and credit for team member contributions
    • Share client-related information and perspective with project team members to produce more effective creative solutions
    • Establish a service-oriented mentality across the account services team
    • Work to improve the studio team’s performance by pursuing opportunities for continuous learning/feedback
    • Constructively help and coach others in their professional development through informal and formal feedback sessions as appropriate
    • Demonstrate a real sense of caring for the team’s professional and personal well being
    • Plan regularly scheduled one-on-one time for personal coaching and mentoring for direct reports
    • Supports onboarding for new studio team members
    • Exhibit a “can-do” approach and inspire and motivate associates to excel
    • Foster a team spirit that is reflective of their collective personalities
    • Nurture a culture that is fun to work in and help build an open creative community
    • Proactively address staff performance issues as needed
    • Allows team to work autonomously without micro-direction

Team Lead Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, advertising or business
  • Minimum of eight years of professional-level experience; at least two of which are in an account management role either in an external or internal agency
  • Financial or insurance experience
  • Leadership experience preferred 
  • Expertise in applicable applications and tools such as Microsoft Office and Workfront software
  • Broad understanding of traditional and emerging channels
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing best practices in the B2B field
  • Expertise in specific channels or vertical markets as required by specific client’s business unit and larger organization’s industry
  • Ability to write and speak effectively and clearly articulate the team’s solutions in terms of the client’s business goals
  • Ability to lead with passion that energizes the team to over-deliver against expectations and results in high employee engagement and overall job satisfaction
  • Anticipates problems and sees how a problem and its solution will affect other projects, people or processes
  • Strong attention to detail so that work is on-time, on-budget and on-strategy
  • Demonstrates an executive presence
