Our top retail client is looking for a talented Product Development Specialist to join their Product Development Team on the development and approval of various home products.
In this role, you will develop and execute products based upon vision and void directed by the Merchants and Manager to ensure the timely shipment of quality, trend right product. You will develop strong customer service and working relationships with Agents, Buyer Vendors and other inter-departmental associates and regularly shop all levels of stores including competitors for fashion, trends, color direction and value. The ideal candidate is able to communicate and interpret conceptual design ideas, and has strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
This is a hybrid role in which you will have to report onsite in Framingham, MA 2 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop working relationships and communication skills.
- Ensure styling details and product standards are clearly communicated and understood by Agents/Vendors.
- Facilitate problem resolution in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the development process according to time and action deadlines.
- Develop an understanding of how to create achievable programs and how to add efficiencies while working with the Manager and team.
- Work with the technical design and design team to ensure that the product styling is consistent with current market trends.
- Work with their Managers, the Agents and Vendors to develop new techniques and concept samples.
- Work closely with the Sourcing Team with some experience with Excel and pivot tables.
- Review all submits received from vendors for compliance to standards.
- Communicate technically achievable direction to the vendors on how to correct color, strike-offs, components, and samples.
- Consult Product Manager or team members for functional guidance as necessary.
- Assist in monitoring delivery and production flow according to the Time & Action deadlines. Monitor WIP reports with Product Development team, Agents, and Vendors to ensure on-time delivery for all programs.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Approve submits including trims, dips, print strike-offs, fabric quality and samples against established standards.
- Resolve issues as they arise in accordance with the Time and Action calendar.
- Prioritize workload.

- Recommend methods to improve the product construction and quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience level: Experienced
- Degree in Business / or Home Product /Fashion and/or Merchandising knowledge.
- Minimum of 3+ years Product Development experience.
- PC skills including EXCEL, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint (PLM, Web PDM, Adobe Illustrator a plus).
- Effective communication skills.
