Our client is seeking a talented Sr. Product Marketer to manage product positioning, brand messaging, and go-to-market strategy for our fast-growing, disruptive biotech startup. The role encompasses both the robotics unit and PRL, our diagnostics unit. This role is a temp to perm opportunity and can sit remote.

About the Role:

In this position, you will play a crucial role across a variety of initiatives, including crafting our brand narrative, developing messaging & positioning, building target personas, defining customer journeys, shaping customer content for lifecycle nurturing, as well as enabling Sales, Marketing, and Support teams with increasingly effective communication strategies.

About You:

It would be best if you were an experienced and open-minded life science enthusiast who exudes both creativity and business sense while seeing everything from the perspectives of the life scientist personas you uncover. Furthermore, you love bringing compelling stories to life through crisp messaging and on-point stories. Do not hesitate to stand up for the customer's perspective even when consensus is steering another direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the markets for affordable, open-source lab automation, and for PCR diagnostic lab services.
  • Inform our GTM strategy for all products and services, including but not limited to our open-source lab automation hardware and software, and our PCR diagnostics menu.
  • Segment our customer by lab type, persona, area of expertise, decision making role, skill level, position, application or workflow, etc... Help develop corresponding sales & marketing approaches with the goal of increasing lead gen, close rates, sales, and customer engagement.
  • Champion and obsessively tune positioning and tonal guidelines crafted and ensure they are communicated effectively to the Marketing and Sales teams. These guidelines will inform market education, sales acceleration, and thought leadership, which in turn will advance our conversation within the market. 
  • Play the role of a credibility watchdog, keeping customer facing activities across departments grounded in the scientific expertise relevant to our customers.
  • Work with the Product Development team to identify new market opportunities and solutions we can provide.
  • Focus on driving results as measured by impact on the sales funnel, market share capture, and other KPIs.
  • Incorporate industry, competitor, and other research into Sales org via training sessions and content e.g. kill sheets, one-sheeters, etc.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing, and/or product management in the life-science industry
  • A passion for, background in, and/or understanding of life science industry
  • A strong vision of how the life-science technology landscape is developing, particularly within molecular biology
  • You are a strong customer advocate whose center of gravity is in the field, learning from your customers. 
  • You’re motivated by the potential of affordable, open-source lab automation to help life scientists accelerate their work on some of the world’s most important problems.
  • You bring out the best in those around you, providing context, clarity, and a healthy collaborative environment to the teams you work with.
  • You have an entrepreneurial sense of initiative and a bias for action; your colleagues count on you to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
