Job Title: UX Developer (Remote)

Type: Freelance / Contract
Our client is a digital marketing agency focused on building solutions and products for the medical space, and they are seeking a UX Developer who will support their team to design and build progressive web applications and experiences for a variety of platforms and devices. We are looking for a candidate with strong front-end development experience and UX/UI design fundamentals. You will also be directly interfacing with our teams in the UK and California, thus strong and clear communication skills are desired. 

This role will start as a contract position with the possibility to extend into a longer term or permanent role.

Responsibilities
  • Support the complete lifecycle of a modern web/interactive experience—from initial conception and ideation, through defining specifications, design, wireframing, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Develop responsive, front-end markup and style from approved designs, employing proper web standards with a focus on usability and accessibility for a variety of platforms and devices.
  • Effectively communicate to clients and other teams within the organization regarding development status, strategy, design implementation, and medical/scientific content.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in web design/development, software development, interaction/experience design, or related field required.
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant UX development/implementation experience, preferably in an agency environment and/or the healthcare industry.
  • A strong portfolio of work including any relevant examples of front-end development, markup, interface development, front end design, or other appropriate UX implementation and design.
  • Real-world production experience with modern web development techniques, technologies, and front-end frameworks (HTML/CSS), including preprocessors (SCSS/SASS), and CSS frameworks (Tailwind).
  • Experience crafting front-end markup with both accessibility and scalability in mind, relevant examples of large-scale front-end development preferred.
  • Strong experience using development tools, package managers, and task-runners (npm, grunt, webpack, parcel).
  • Fluency working with industry-standard version control systems (Git) and associated operations (rebasing, branching, merging, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Angular based JavaScript/TypeScript web application development, with the ability to collaborate and integrate with other full stack and back end developers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UX design process and fundamentals including creation of creative briefs, gap analyses, persona development, wire-framing, prototyping, etc.
  • Confidence working across the Adobe Creative Suite of design tools, particularly XD.
  • Fluency in both Windows & Mac OSX operating system environments.
  • A strong attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and work in fast-paced start-up like agency environment.
