Cella is in search of a Creative Services Team Lead for Cella's in-house agency (IHA) at our client, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical creative marketing/advertising experience is required.

The Cella Team Lead will oversee the Cella Studio, providing management and mentorship; as well as serve as the liaison between clients, senior management, and the Cella Studio. They manage the process of turning creative ideas into tangible outputs across a variety of media. Duties include effective use of the team through project oversight, workload awareness, workflow, utilization, team engagement, morale, and more. These efforts are to support the goal of building (and strengthening) relationships with our business partners, growing the business, impacting productivity, and elevating the quality of work for the client.

As the Team Lead, you will work closely with the organization's marketing teams to assist and support in the execution of marketing materials. Requested work will include a wide range of design (and copy) deliverables: digital, web, print, video, and slide deck design. This role requires strong communication, superb client relations, project management, problem-solving, and presentation skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain solid relationships with all staff members.

Responsibilities:

Studio Management

  • Oversee staff development and performance management.
  • Coach and develop team members by providing regular informal and formal feedback supporting individual development plans and strengthening project and relationship management skills.
  • Provide professional guidance and counseling with Cella Studio Team to encourage career path development and strengthen Studio partnerships.
  • Participate in recruiting initiatives and onboard new team members.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with staff members, document staff progress and participate in formal reviews.
  • Organize team meetings in which team bonding, continuing education, and department protocols are the core focus.

Project Management

  • Supervise, coordinate and ensure the on-time and orderly flow of all creative/production from job initiation to its final delivery and billing as required.
  • Ensure project schedules are followed and budgets are adhered to.
  • Determine project assignments and monitor workload of all creative and project management team members.
  • Ensure brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions.
  • Oversee adherence to quality control practices and processes.
  • Organize and execute initiatives as requested by the head of creative services.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and bring recommendations for overcoming them to the table.

Client Relations

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality service by developing and maintaining dedicated, strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Lead and contribute to projects in partnership with internal and external designers, writers and marketing specialists - this includes creative brainstorming, project initiation and execution.
  • Manage content expertly through Medical Legal Review (MLR) process from submission and perform key agency-related tasks for promotional and scientific/ medical content.
  • Influence others past their comfort zone(s) with the ability to create a high sense of urgency when needed.
  • Responsible for flagging potential delays or changes in project schedules and engaging the necessary parties to resolve matters, re-prioritize work and communicate any necessary changes.
  • Enforce adherence of procedures and guidelines to business owners for creative workflow processes and deadlines to ensure standardized approach and delivery and guide the documentation of business requirements for projects as needed.
  • Conduct weekly status meetings to update business colleagues on project status.
  • Appropriately communicate and set expectations for project work and completion based on existing workload, processes or other factors impacting completion or delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in pharma design, advertising or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years professional-level experience supporting client and project management required as a creative project manager.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a creative project management team client and project management experience preferred.
  • In-house and external agency experience desirable.
  • Preference for those who have worked in pharma previously.
  • Strong plus if the candidate has worked previously with Wrike and Veeva Vault.
  • Superior customer service ethic with excellent client relationship skills.
  • Solid understanding of the business and value of creative services.
  • Ability to present self and work professionally and persuasively to internal clients.
  • Well-established organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Able to analyze data and proactively present solutions to improve workflow efficiency accordingly.
  • Superior problem-solving ability and professional judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Demonstrated poise, grace under pressure, initiative, and resourcefulness, and the ability to motivate staff through a positive approach.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end digital execution. Understanding of end to end print production.
  • Has proven experience with digital, integrated and cross-platform campaigns.
  • Smart, creative, disciplined and driven. Not afraid to influence others past their comfort zone(s) and capable of creating a high sense of urgency when needed.
  • A self-starter who excels at listening, interpreting data, and developing a plan of action to achieve individual and team goals.
